Democrat mayor of El Paso declares state of emergency over border crisis blowing Joe Biden's cover

December 20, 2022

El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser, who is a Democrat, declared a state of emergency during a press conference on Saturday in preparation for a massive jump in illegal immigrant crossings following the expiration of Title 42.

During the press conference, Leeser stated that "I said from the beginning that I would call it when I felt that either our asylum-seekers or community were not safe, and I really believe that today, our asylum-seekers are not safe as we have hundreds and hundreds on the streets, and that's not the way we want to treat people."

Title 42, which is a Trump-era immigration policy, had helped border patrol agents turn away 40% of immigrants.

Now without Title 42, border patrol has lost one of its best tools to stem the unprecedented flow of illegal immigrants across the southern border.

Leeser is preparing for this outcome as he told Fox News that "We know the influx on [Dec. 21] will be incredible. It will be huge. On Wednesday, our numbers will go from 2,500 to 4,000, 5,000, maybe 6,000."

All of this is terrible news for Joe Biden, who has been attempting to pretend that the border crisis isn't actually happening. A Democrat mayor of a border city declaring a state of emergency has made it impossible for the White House to feign ignorance.
