Rep. Becca Balint (D-VT) said Monday on CNN that she "welcomes" President Joe Biden's apology to Gaza for saying in October that he doesn't believe their Hamas-controlled health ministry's death toll numbers.

“I welcome his apology and his commitment to doing better," Balint said. "And I think that’s something that we, as Americans, all need to do, is to hold this complexity and be able to say this suffering cannot continue.”

She characterized Biden's apology as a statement "that he stands with innocent Palestinian civilians and Israelis” rather than a capitulation to the segment of his party that is sympathetic to Hamas and sees the terrorist group as "oppressed."

"I applaud that he is always trying to be better and to be really clear with Muslim Americans across the country, and, most particularly, Palestinian Americans, that the death toll in Gaza is absolutely devastating, that the suffering cannot continue," she said.

Biden has tried his best to walk a fine line between supporting Israel and not offending the Hamas sympathizers in his party.

As with most of these situations, he is failing miserably and people on both sides are generally unhappy with him, other than Balint.
