Korean War Veteran Officially Laid To Rest After 73 Years

 May 30, 2023

U.S. Army Cpl. Luther Herschel Story paid the ultimate sacrifice when he was just 18 years old.

Cpl. Story was killed during the hugely important Battle of Nakdong Bulge in South Korea back in 1950. Tasked with holding the line, Story paid with his life to do so.

He was awarded the Medal of Honor but remained missing in action in Korea.

Cpl. Story was missing in action for over 70 years.

In 2023, his remains were miraculously identified.

On Memorial Day 2023, Story's family was able to give him the proper burial he always deserved at Andersonville National Cemetery.

Cpl. Story' family, even those that had never met him, felt like a piece of their life had been returned.

"My point of view, God allowed him to do what he had to do and took him home, so he didn’t have to do it anymore," said Judy Wade, Cpl. Story's niece. She added:

That was not his nature. His nature was not to kill people. His nature was to be good to people. He was being good to his fellow soldiers by saving their lives.

Thank God for Cpl. Story. And thank God for all of the fine men and women like him.
