Cowboys QB Dak Prescott sues woman for alleged $100M extortion attempt

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott filed a lawsuit Monday to sue a woman he claims tried to extort $100 million from him, claiming that he sexually assaulted her in 2017 after his rookie season.

NBC News declined to name the woman claiming Prescott assaulted her, but her lawyers Bethel and Yoel Zehaie spoke on her behalf.

Prescott said his representatives were contacted by the woman's legal counsel on February 13, asking for $100 million in exchange for keeping quiet about the alleged assault.

Instead of capitulating, Prescott decided to file the suit, knowing it would make her allegations public. He asks for $1 million in damages and legal fees. Police are now investigating both Prescott's and the woman's claims.

“We will not allow the defendant and her legal team to profit from this attempt to extort millions from Mr. Prescott,” Prescott’s attorney, Levi McCathern, said in a statement.

“Sexual assault is a despicable crime that no person should ever endure,” the suit said, which also said that as a new father to a baby girl, Prescott has great empathy for survivors of sexual assault.
