Comer probes John Kerry's secret negotiations with China

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) is now probing Special Presidential Envoy for Climate (SPEC) John Kerry’s climate negotiations with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), after informing him by letter on Thursday that an investigation would be started.

Kerry has so far ignored requests by Comer and the committee to provide information about the negotiations, which the committee feels could be harmful to the U.S.

“To date, you have failed to respond to any of our requests. Yet, you continue to engage in activities that could undermine our economic health, skirt congressional authority, and threaten foreign policy under the guise of climate advocacy,” Comer wrote in the letter.

"The Committee requests documents and information to understand your role and provide necessary transparency over the SPEC and its activities. As a member of the President’s cabinet, you should be representing the United States’ interests. Your statements, however, consistently show disregard for American national security and taxpayer dollars," he continued.

Kerry not only holds a brand new cabinet position created by President Joe Biden, but he also sits on the National Security Council.

The committee alleges that he has been downplaying China's horrific human rights record while trying to get them to negotiate on climate.
