CNN host Don Lemon has caught a huge amount of flak for his sexist comments directed at Republican Nikki Haley, who recently announced she would be running for president in 2024.
Even Lemon's own network is airing his critics. ABC News contributor Sarah Isgur ripped into Lemon during an "Overtime" Q&A segment on Bill Maher's show when answering a question from a viewer on Haley.
Isgur stated, "As Don Lemon told us on CNN, women actually can't run for president because he said we're past our prime once we get to our 40s. But since you have to be 35 to run, it's like this really tiny window between 35 and 40."
To see backlash to Lemon's comments is surprising, as Republican women are typically fair game for liberal hosts like Lemon.
Even CNN CEO Chris Licht reportedly ripped Lemon during a call saying his comments were "upsetting, unacceptable, and unfair."
The fact that CNN is running clips that are bashing its own hosts says a lot about the state of the organization right now. As for the rest of America, internecine conflict at CNN is always good news.
