It's still mind-blowing that Chicago, Illinois voters chose Mayor Brandon Johnson (D) to lead what used to be a desirable and relatively safe U.S. city.
His reign, so far, is on par with how Lori Lightfoot ran the city into the ground, but shockingly, it's even worse.
That was evidenced once again over the weekend with multiple shooting victims and several shooting-related deaths, Breitbart reported. Chicago's crime issues center around its out-of-control gang problem.
The one shooting fatality occurred Friday around 11:40 p.m., when a man approached a 45-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman and opened fire, ABC 7/Chicago Sun-Times reported.
It was originally reported that 17 people had been shot from Friday night into Sunday, with one fatality, but as of Monday, that number rocketed upward by several times, with local media reporting some 40 people had been shot over the weekend and two additional deaths.
Breitbart, in a separate report, noted:
The first of the additional fatal shootings occurred just before 11:30 p.m. Saturday, when two men, ages 21 and 23, began fighting with a third “in the 4300-block of West Armitage Avenue.” The third man pulled a gun and began shooting, fatally wounding the 23-year-old.
The other shooting fatality occurred Sunday morning just after 7:00 a.m. Someone approached a 44-year-old man “in the 1000-block of North Milwaukee Avenue” and opened fire.
The headline, which has become horrifically common, grabbed the attention of Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), who rightfully blamed Democrats for allowing such crime to run rampant.
"39 shot. 4 dead. One weekend. Democrat-run Chicago," Jordan wrote on X.

This year has, so far, proven to be a deadly one for the residents of Chicago. The Sun-Times reported that from the beginning of the year, 444 people have been killed in Chicago.
Social media users reacted to the news, with many faulting Democrats and their soft-on-crime policies for the continued carnage in major cities.
"Just another typical weekend in a deep blue city," one X user wrote.
Another X user wrote, "Chicago has some of the toughest gun laws in the country. Criminals & gang members could care less. Go figure."
Until Chicago voters wake up and realize that their city will continue to devolve into a criminal fantasy under the rule of progressive Democrats like Johnson, nothing will ever change, and it will become increasingly more dangerous to walk outside.
It's important to share the news to spread the truth. Most people won't.
