Centers For Disease Control And Prevention Director Resigns

May 6, 2023

The head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Dr. Rochelle Walensky, has announced her resignation.

Walensky's last day in her role will be June 30, 2023. The Associated Press is reporting that Walensky is resigning because the COVID pandemic is pretty much over. She sent a resignation letter directly to President Joe Biden and let her staff know during a special meeting.

Rochelle Walensky had been serving in the position since being appointed by Biden in December 2020, just months before COVID vaccines were deployed in America.

In her letter, Dr. Walensky said that she had "mixed feelings" about leaving, but that she has "never been prouder of anything I have done in my professional career."

If that mess of unethical and unconstitutional mandates was something to be proud of, then I guess Walensky is right.

The World Health Organization has already said that COVID no longer qualifies as an emergency, and America's public health emergency declaration expires next week.

So long, Walensky.

And good riddance.
