The car driven by a man suspected of murdering a judge who gave custody of his kids to his estranged wife was found on Saturday morning in Williamsport, Maryland.
Maryland police said the silver Mercedes-Benz vehicle was found by a local resident and may have been there since Thursday.
Circuit Court Judge Andrew Wilkinson was shot and killed outside his Hagerstown home on Thursday night, about eight miles from where the car was found.
Pedro Argote, 49, the suspect in the murder, is missing and considered armed and dangerous.
Part of the reason why the judge gave Argote's wife sole custody of their four children, ages 12, 11, five, and three, is that he had a history of domestic violence.
Police are asking people to avoid the search area, which is cordoned off, and are offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to Argote's arrest.
