Nigel Farage, the British conservative responsible for Brexit, tore into former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for her inability to understand the basic principles of the American legal system in a post to Twitter on Friday.
Farage wrote, "Pelosi says Trump must prove his innocence. Wrong! In free countries that’s not how it works. The Dems are now very dangerous indeed."
This post was in response to a post from Pelosi regarding former President Donald Trump's indictment. Pelosi had claimed, "No one is above the law, and everyone has the right to a trial to prove innocence."
Pelosi's assertion that an individual must prove their innocence in a trial is a mask-off moment that reveals her regressive ideas. In America, the individual is assumed innocent until it is proven beyond a reasonable doubt that they are guilty.
In Pelosi's mind, Trump is already guilty and facing an uphill battle to prove his innocence. It is no surprise, given that the 83-year-old Pelosi is losing her mental faculties.
The case against Donald Trump is flimsy at best, and the only reason there was an indictment is because of politics. Democrats will go to any length no matter the consequences to stop Trump from running in 2024.
