President Joe Biden said that come November just after the midterms, the White House does not plan to release any more oil from the strategic oil reserve despite ongoing supply-side problems and plans by OPEC to cut production again.
“We’re not considering new releases from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve beyond the 180 million that the president announced months ago,” White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said. “We don’t have anything more to share, we’re not going to be considering new releases at that time.”
Biden has released more oil from the reserve than all the previous presidents combined.
“We’re going to do everything that we can here in the administration to lower costs for Americans,” she said, while declining to give any specifics about things they could do.
The comments are pretty much proof that Biden was only trying to help Democrats' chances in the midterm elections and after that, will be more than happy to see gas and oil prices go through the roof.
