A former staffer for Nebraska Sen. Ben Sasse (R) said on Thursday that he will likely resign his seat in the near future.
Sasse has become unpopular with his party due to his support for the impeachment of former President Donald Trump.
He will reportedly accept an offer to be president of the University of Florida in Gainsville.
Republican Governor Peter Ricketts will appoint a replacement for Sasse if he does officially resign.
Let's hope he does so quickly so that Democrats can't gain an advantage in getting bills passed while they have a majority.
