State officials are admitting that Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) may lose her primary in August, much to the chagrin of Democrats with whom she votes much of the time.
Cheney has been behind her primary opponent Harriet Hageman since at least June, according to polling.
She got so desperate that her campaign sent fliers to Democrats explaining to them how to change their registration to Republican to vote for her, something she previously said she wouldn't do.
With Wyoming's much larger Republican registration, however, it is unclear whether even a number of Democrats switching their registrations could help Cheney overcome a vote deficit.
Voters in the state did not react well to Cheney's attacks on Trump, particularly her vote to impeach him the second time over January 6 and her position on the January 6 committee.
