Chicago had a pretty good weekend compared to most, with only 20 people shot from Friday through Saturday night and only one fatality.
The fatality happened at a gathering outside a home in the city, when a shooter drove up to the group and opened fire. A 33-year-old man was shot to death, and four others were shot but are in stable condition.
The shootings are lower than many weekends have been in the city; last weekend 45 people were shot and 6 were killed.
So far this year there have been 423 people killed in the city, which has been run by Democrats for decades.
Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D) has asked for more gun control in the city, which already has some of the strictest restrictions on guns of any city in the country. The city is a perfect example showing that criminals do not follow gun laws.
