The House Judiciary Committee passed an "assault weapons" ban on Wednesday, and as it turns out, the gun control bill also bans semiautomatic pistols and shotguns.
H.R. 1808, sponsored by Representative David Cicilline (D-RI), misleadingly claims to be an "assault weapons" ban when it is really targeting all weapons.
The bill bans semiautomatic pistols with detachable magazines and threaded barrels, which are common features on nearly all pistols.
H.R. 1808 is effectively a disguised ban on everything from AR-15s to common pistols that are overwhelmingly used by Americans for self-defense.
The bill will also ban semiautomatic shotguns that can accept a detachable clip or has a pistol grip which is also a very common feature on shotguns.
Democrats would like Americans to believe that they are only going after the scary "assault weapons," but in reality, they are coming for all guns.
