BREAKING: Liz Cheney Says She's Ashamed - But Not What You Think...

August 22, 2022

Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY), who was recently tossed out by voters in Wyoming's primary, announced she was ashamed of her fellow Republicans for defending former President Donald Trump after the FBI conducted a blatantly political raid on his Florida Mar-a-Lago residence.

During a Sunday interview on ABC's "This Week," ABC News Chief Washington Correspondent Jonathan Karl asked Cheney how she reacted to the raid.

Cheney responded by saying, "It's a very serious thing. I think that when you think about the fact that we were in a position where the FBI, the Department of Justice felt the need to execute a search warrant at the home of a former president, that's a really serious thing for the nation."

Of course, Cheney went on to defend the FBI saying, "I was ashamed to hear Republicans immediately attack the FBI agents who executed the search warrant. I was disgusted when I learned that President Trump had released the names of those agents when he was released the unredacted search warrant, and that has now caused violence. We've seen threats of violence. The judge himself, his synagogue had to cancel services because of threats of violence, is a really dangerous moment."

However, Cheney ignored the true danger to our nation that this raid exposed. The FBI raided the home of a former President and is refusing to release the affidavit justifying the raid.

Only one conclusion could be drawn from the raid on Trump's Mar-a-Lago. The FBI has become a partisan agency that Democrats are using to attack their political opponents. That is truly dangerous to our nation and Cheney doesn't want to acknowledge that.
