Vice President Kamala Harris celebrated Indigenous People's Day on Monday, snubbing the more traditional Columbus Day as many liberals have taken to doing.
“On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we pay respect to Tribal Nations and indigenous history,” Harris wrote on social media. “Today and every day, let us continue to celebrate and uplift the rich contributions of Indigenous peoples — their leadership has made our country stronger.”
Supposedly, Christopher Columbus was racist or some such nonsense, and many on the left no longer recognize it.
President Joe Biden proclaimed the day both Columbus and Indigenous People's Day, avoiding the controversy.
While indigenous peoples have been mistreated for centuries, Biden said, Columbus "inspired" others to seek out new lands as he did.
