Texas Representative Jodey Arrington announced that President Biden has " "surrendered control," of the southern border, and as such, Texas officials are moving to fill in the gap.
Multiple Texas counties have declared the crisis at the border as an "invasion," and there is growing pressure, spearheaded by Representative Arrington, for Governor Greg Abbott to declare an invasion officially.
Other officials, such as Kinney County Judge Tully Shahan, blasted the Biden administration by saying, "We want America to know that this is real. The Biden administration won't do a thing about it. They could stop this thing this hour. They could stop it now. They don't have the guts."
The border crisis has been raging since President Joe Biden was sworn into office nearly two years ago. Since then, hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens have crossed the border.
The situation is comparable to an invasion, and Texas is reacting accordingly. The National Guard has already been mobilized alongside law enforcement entities to help stem the tide of illegal immigrants.
Representative Arrington warned Americans saying, "If you had Al Qaeda or ISIS or some terrorist group that had control of our border and was pushing this poison into our communities and killing our families and our children and our citizens, I guarantee you that people would see this differently. But it is an invasion, and it is an onslaught, and we are under siege."
