Republican members of the House Judiciary Committee have officially formalized their promise should they take the majority in November:
Investigate the Department of Justice and the FBI.
Republicans sent notices to Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray letting them know that formal investigations are probably coming after Republicans have majority control:

The notices were sent in response to the raid on Donald Trump's private residence last week.
"Under your tenure, the Justice Department continues to shatter public confidence in the equal application of justice," the Republicans wrote.
