Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS) introduced a resolution on Wednesday on the Senate floor to declare the U.S. border crisis an "invasion."
It is “the constitutional right of state governments to repel the dangerous ongoing invasion across the southern border,” he said.
“The federal government has failed,” Marshall stated bluntly, “intentionally or unintentionally, to uphold its obligations to protect the states from invasion under Article 4, Section 4, of the United States Constitution.”
Marshall blamed Biden squarely for the crisis and slammed him in his remarks for his "dereliction of duty and failure" to prevent the crisis.
The 50 Democrats in the Senate will surely not allow the resolution to be adopted by unanimous consent, as Marshall asks, but it shows the seriousness of the GOP in taking whatever actions they can to combat the border crisis and to bring public attention to it.
