Former President Donald Trump has called on Congress to investigate "anti-American" censorship being perpetrated by woke mega-corporations.
Trump made the comments during a speech at Turning Point USA's Student Action Summit in Florida on Saturday.
Trump said during his speech that "But I'll talk about the next critical fight we need is for your energy to be put behind the battle to restore free speech in America. There is no such thing as a democracy that does not have free speech. We don't have free speech anymore. We have canceled culture we have fake news media that reports certain news incorrectly."
Trump's observations are spot on, as freedom of speech is as American as apple pie. Without it, we are no better than the totalitarian regimes we opposed throughout the 20th century.
Trump continued by saying, "If debate can be silenced, if dissent can be suppressed. If conservative ideas can be systematically shut down, then very simply, we do not have a free country anymore. That's what happened with communism and various countries. That's what happened with Venezuela."
The suppression of free speech has become increasingly popular on the left and with the help of woke corporations. If Republicans win a majority in Congress in November, they must prioritize protecting the 4th Amendment.
