Former President Bill Clinton shocked Democrats by suggesting that illegal immigration was a problem and that the nation could only tolerate a certain amount of illegal immigrants until it would negatively impact the American people.
Clinton made the remarks during a CNN podcast with host Fareed Zakaria during a discussion about illegal immigrants who attempt to take advantage of our social safety nets.
During the interview, Clinton stated that "There is a limit to how many migrants any society can take without severe disruption and assistance, and our system is based much more on an assumption that things would be more normal."
These comments fly in the face of the narrative presented by the White House that there is no immigration crisis.
The White House has insisted that nothing is wrong even as over 2 million illegal immigrants have flooded across the southern border, overwhelming our immigration system.
Clinton's comments are a recognition of the fact that there is a real crisis, and if Democrats don't pull their heads out of the sand, voters will do it for them in November's midterm elections.
