The American Academy of Pediatrics is still pushing mask-wearing for children in its messaging even though studies have shown that cloth masks don't really work.
“Masks are important to help reduce the spread of COVID-19,” the AAP wrote on social media even though studies have not proven this to be true.
At the end of 2021 when transmission was high, for example, California with its mask mandate had four times more cases than non-masked Florida.
The academy also seems to be in denial that masks for young children delay language development, even though that has been a concern of many parents.
“At the end of the day, we got to start putting our kids first. We got to look out for their education,” Florida Governor said in defense of its lack of mask mandates. “Is it really comfortable, is it really healthy, for them to be muzzled and have their breathing obstructed all day in school? I don’t think it is.”
