Former Brazilian president's home raided, congressmen claim persecution

 February 9, 2024

Jair Bolsonaro was the 38th president of Brazil from 2019 to 2022.

It turns out that America isn't the only place where former presidents are persecuted.

Bolsonaro and members of his inner circle are being accused of "allegedly plotting a military coup after his electoral loss to President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva in 2022."

Congressmen who support Bolsonaro in Brazil have been eager to point out that this might not be a case seeking justice but rather a case seeking retribution.

Apparently, in Brazil, just like in America, right-leaning politicians are put under a microscope when they threaten the easy lives of the ultra-left in their country.

Bolsonaro, who is often compared ideologically to Donald Trump, was apparently at his beach house in Rio de Janeiro when police arrived on Feb. 8 and demanded his passport.

If you think that this ruthless aggression toward Bolsonaro is going to stop there, then you haven't been watching what's going on in the world.
