Border patrol found 880 bodies in Fiscal Year 2022, making it the deadliest year on record

March 5, 2023

The Washington Examiner obtained a report from the U.S. Border Patrol that revealed agents had found the bodies or remains of 880 migrants in Fiscal Year 2022, making it the deadliest year on record.

That number is far from comprehensive, as it doesn't include the bodies recovered by Mexican authorities or by federal agencies away from the border.

Brooks County, Texas Sheriff Benny Martinez told Breitbart News, "Unfortunately, [these deaths are a] consequence of the government’s policies that created the massive influx of people crossing the border illegally into Texas. We continue to see a record number of body recoveries in our county."

The journey across the southern border is an incredibly dangerous one and human traffickers have made it clear that the safety of their "cargo" is of no concern.

Many migrants end up dying from drownings in the Rio Grande, heat-related emergencies, and vehicle accidents.

2022 shattered the previous record of 568 bodies set in 2021. There is a clear pattern here that points back to President Joe Biden and his dangerous immigration policy that is putting people in harm's way.
