Body found in freezer of San Diego home by visiting family members

 December 25, 2023

One family's Christmas weekend went horribly wrong when visiting family discovered a body of an unidentified female in the freezer.

The San Diego Police Department confirmed that relatives from out of town had found the body that authorities are busy working to identify.

The homicide unit is handling the investigation, and due to the “unusual location” of the body, it is possible that foul play may be a factor but it has yet to be confirmed by police.

The SDPD said in a news release that, "Detectives are continuing to gather information to understand what happened and why the body was inside the freezer."

Until the body is identified, the SDPD will not release any information on the homeowner or the homeowner's family members who found the body.

The SDPD has encouraged the public to come forward with any information related to this situation, and citizens can contact the SDPD’s homicide unit at 619-531-2293 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
