President Joe Biden stared blankly at the crowd for at least 30 seconds as reporters shouted out questions about his impeachment inquiry, after which reporters were ushered from the room.
The episode took place at the White House during a meeting of Biden's so-called Cancer Cabinet. The president stared blankly, licked his lips, and leaned over to the first lady like he didn't know what to do.
Earlier on Wednesday, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre wouldn't answer some questions of her own, including whether Biden would fully cooperate with the inquiry.
She also insisted that her boss didn't do anything wrong, even though evidence suggests that Biden lied about his involvement in his son's business dealings, that his family members received millions in payouts to shell companies, and that Biden gave his son Hunter special treatment in a tax probe by the DOJ.
A whistleblower also alleges Biden received bribes from a Ukrainian oligarch.
The inquiry will help Congress obtain additional bank records and other documentation that could give conclusive proof that Biden has acted corruptly.
