Biden passes the buck to Trump on all the problems of his administration

February 19, 2023

The saying goes, "The buck stops here," but President Joe Biden seems to think that every "buck" his administration encounters (or creates) actually stops with former President Donald Trump.

He tried to blame Trump for the East Palestine, Ohio train derailment and its aftermath on Trump, saying, "We’re constrained by law on some areas of rail regulation (like the braking rule withdrawn by the Trump administration in 2018 because of a law passed by Congress in 2015), but we are using the powers we do have to keep people safe."

He essentially blamed Trump for the Chinese spy balloon by claiming that other balloons had flown over U.S. airspace during Trump's administration, and nothing was done about it. Never mind that the Trump administration was never told about it because it was only discovered recently during Biden's tenure.

He also blamed Trump for inflation, saying it "was already here when I got here, man." In reality, inflation was under 2% during the last two years of Trump's term and only began to rise in 2021 after Biden took over and spent another $5 trillion that wasn't really needed.

Immigration is another issue on which Biden is blaming Trump. "The president inherited a mess because of what the last administration did," Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in January, per Fox News.

Finally, Biden even blamed Trump for the disastrous Afghan pullout. "We inherited a deadline, we did not inherit a plan," he said. But none of these statements were true; the buck really did stop with Biden, and he's just trying to duck and cover if possible.
