Biden-Harris surveillance drone claims brings Lebanon ceasefire agreement to verge of collapse

 December 3, 2024

It should come as no big surprise that President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have once again dropped the ball regarding a ceasefire involving Israel.

According to Breitbart, in the wake of the Biden-Harris administration erroneously claiming that Israeli surveillance drones violated a barely-five-day-old ceasefire agreement in Lebanon, the agreement is on the verge of collapsing.

Hezbollah forces on Monday fired rockets into Israel, and the Jewish state has already vowed to retaliate, essentially wiping any notion of a ceasefire off the table.

As reported by Israeli officials, Hezbollah forces in Lebanon fired two rockets at Har (Mount) Dov -- a strategic mountain in Israel that Hezbollah claims belongs to Lebanon.

Breitbart noted:

No international authority recognizes Hezbollah’s claim, but the Iranian-backed terror group wants Israel to give up the mountain, which commands all of northern Israel below. Before Israel went on the offensive in the war, the Biden -Harris administration tried to convince Israel to comply with Hezbollah’s demands and withdraw from Har Dov.

The rocket attacks by Hezbollah forces came just days after the Biden-Harris administration claimed that Israel's flying of surveillance drones over Beirut was a violation of the ceasefire terms.

The agreement, as reviewed by Breitbart and others, does not prevent such activities, and clearly states that each side "may engage in legitimate self-defense activity."

Breitbart also noted that the Biden-Harris administration sided with France -- a country that "has an anti-Israel posture and regards Lebanon, a former French colony, as its own turf. That sent a signal of weakness to Hezbollah and to Iran."

It was reported that after the Biden-Harris administration made the surveillance drone claims, Hezbollah forces "tested" Israel's resolve in firing the two rockets at Har Dov.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reacted to the news of the rocket strike in a statement in which he held nothing back.

"Hezbollah fire at Mt. Dov constitutes a severe violation of the ceasefire, and Israel will respond forcefully. We are determined to continue enforcing the ceasefire and will respond to every Hezbollah violation — minor and major," Netanyahu wrote.

DF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi added, "We will respond decisively to Hezbollah’s severe violation of the ceasefire -- and will continue to do so. We have plans and targets ready to be carried out and at any given moment."

While the ceasefire agreement is still in effect on paper, it seems like it's only a matter of time before that's not the case. Thanks again, Biden.
