Biden gives green light for Ukrainian use of long-range American missiles in Russian territory
The nation hasn't seen much of President Joe Biden ever since he was ousted from the 2024 race by people inside his own political party, but he just managed to put the entire world on war watch with a single move.
According to Fox News, it was reported this week that Biden had authorized Ukraine to use U.S.-provided long-range missiles to strike targets inside of Russia, causing immediate concerns.
Russian President Vladimir Putin had previously stated that such an escalation would be nothing short of an "act of war," bringing untold consequences.
The New York Times broke the bombshell story, noting that a senior U.S. official familiar with the details of the authorization said the missiles would likely target the Kursk region of Western Russia.
Notably, what reportedly spurred Biden's decision to authorize such actions were reports of at least 10,000 North Korean soldiers having been contracted to fight Ukraine for Russia in the Kursk region.
A second U.S. official couldn't confirm whether or not the long-range American missiles would ever be used outside of the Kursk region.
Putin in September: If Ukraine uses U.S. long-range missiles to strike Russia, the "United States is at war with Russia."

Fox News noted:
The announcement came after Great Britain and France authorized Ukraine to launch SCALP/Storm Shadow missile strikes, according to French outlet Le Figaro.
Biden's announcement also came just hours after Russia concluded one of its largest missile and drone attacks in months, launching over 200 targeting Ukraine's power and energy infrastructure.
Putin's previous warnings about Ukraine's use of American long-range missiles was crystal clear.
"Flight assignments for these missile systems can, in fact, only be entered by military personnel from NATO countries. Ukrainian servicemen cannot do this. And therefore, it is not a question of allowing the Ukrainian regime to strike Russia with these weapons or not. It is a question of making a decision whether NATO countries directly participate in the military conflict or not," Putin said just two months ago.
He added, "If this decision is made, it will mean nothing less than the direct participation of NATO countries, the United States, and European countries, in the war in Ukraine."
Users across social media were not happy with Biden's decision to authorize use of the long-range missiles.
"Joe Biden is starting World War 3 with Russia in order to try to tank Trump’s administration while making the military industrial complex rich. That’s precisely what’s going on," one X user wrote.
Another X user wrote, "We know Joe Biden is NOT running the country so who authorized this? That is the question that should be asked. Because THAT is who started war with Russia and should be charged with treason!"
