Biden family got millions from Chinese company after 2016, Treasury reports show

House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) said that Treasury records show a $3 million wire transfer to the Biden family from a Chinese company after Joe Biden left the vice presidency in 2017, in addition to other payments.

The records were from the 150 suspicious activity reports (SARs) that flagged Biden family monetary transactions. SARs sometimes show when criminal activity has occurred.

“According to bank documents we’ve already obtained, we know one company owned by a Biden associate received a $3 million dollar wire from a Chinese energy company two months after Joe Biden left the vice presidency,” Comer said in a statement. “Soon after, hundreds of thousands of dollars in payouts went to members of the Biden family.”

The SARs also show money paid to James and Hunter Biden from a Ukrainian energy company, and it is already public knowledge that Hunter Biden was paid $1 million a year to be on the board of Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company right at the time his father was made the point person on Ukraine.

Comer practically accused Joe Biden of a cover-up, stating that he changed the rules for oversight at a time when he knew he could be investigated.

“For over 20 years, Congress had access to these reports but the Biden Administration changed the rules out of the blue to restrict our ability to conduct oversight," he said.
