Biden donors reportedly depressed over Trump's ability to raise mountains of money

 June 24, 2024

It's safe to say that many of former President Donald Trump's critics were banking on the multiple legal challenges he faces ultimatley crushing his chances in the November election.

Instead, for the most part, the convictions and ongoing legal woes have not only not hurt the former president, they've actually helped ramp up fundraising to unprecedented heights.

According to Fox News, some of President Joe Biden's backers are apparently "depressed" over Trump's ability to continue to raise insane amounts of money and remain extraordinarily strong in the polls as November nears.

An anonymous "major" Biden donor broke their silence in a bombshell statement to Politico over the weekend regarding Trump's fundraising compared to Biden's.

"There was the strategy of raising all this money on the front end so we could have this huge edge," the anonymous Biden backer told Politico in a report Sunday.

They added, "The whole point of it was to come out with a sizable cash advantage and, you know, we’re now even and it’s June.… I have no other word for it other than ‘depression’ among Biden supporters."

Fox News noted:

The comments come after Trump was the beneficiary of a wave of donations, outraising Biden and the Democratic National Committee in back-to-back months and essentially erasing what was once a massive cash-on-hand advantage for Biden.

In the same report, Politico also noted that another anonymous Biden donor said Trump's fundraising succes was "disappointing, but not surprising."

Fox News noted Trump's most recent fundraising gains that changed the game in his favor to a signifcant degree, thanks to one of Trump's billionaire friends.

Trump’s haul also comes as Make America Great Again (MAGA) Inc., a top super PAC backing the former president, received a massive $50 million donation from conservative banker Timothy Mellon.

While Biden's fundraising efforts have rebounded in recent weeks, to some degree, Fox News noted that Biden's campaign found itself scrambling in the fundraising race for the first time during this campaign season.

The numbers are mind-blowing. Trump and the Republican National Committee have $116.5 million in cash, while Biden and the Democratic National Committee currently hold $91.6 million in cash.

There's no telling what those numbers could do in the final stretch in the lead-up to the November election.

Only time will tell if the race boils down to campaign cash on hand.
