Biden criticized for holding BBQ while Americans were reportedly killed/captured in Israel

October 10, 2023

When news broke that Americans were among the hostages taken by Hamas during its unprecedented strike on Israel, the White House was busy hosting a BBQ.

According to Breitbart, President Joe Biden didn't exactly score well on the optics front, as he was widely criticized for not addressing the situation and obviously for holding a BBQ at the same time.

Critics of the president took to social media to slam the president for seeming out of touch with the dire situation, especially given that at the time, hundreds of innocent civilians had been brutally murdered in the attack.

Stephen Miller slammed the president in a tweet.

A number of additional members of Congress took to social media to criticize the president for seemingly holding a BBQ in higher priority than immediately addressing the situation that had taken place in Israel.

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) was blunt in his assessment of the situation.

"While Hamas holds Americans hostage, Joe Biden is enjoying a picnic with a live band," Hawley wrote.

Reporter Jennie Taer also opined, writing, "READ: The president and the First Lady are hosting a bbq right now with a live band for staff while a war breaks out in the Middle East, where our own US citizens have been killed, per a pool report," she tweeted.

"Political commentator Brilyn Hollyhand summed it up best in a tweet, writing "BBQ first, America last."

"Countless American citizens have been murdered or are currently being held hostage by Hamas, but Biden is in his back yard hosting a BBQ. They care more about their picnic schedule than dead Americans thanks to a major U.S. intel failure. Disgusting. BBQ First, America Last," he wrote.
