Biden being treated for five physical ailments, annual physical reveals

February 18, 2023

President Joe Biden had his annual physical recently, and it revealed five physical ailments for which Biden is being treated.

Kevin O’Connor said Thursday that the president has atrial fibrillation (A-fib), which causes rapid and irregular heartbeats, can lead to blood clots, and increases the risk of heart failure and strokes.

Hyperlipidemia, which can cause high cholesterol and contribute to blockages, is another condition Biden has. He also has Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), which is very common at all ages.

A stiff gait was also mentioned, and while this can be a symptom of dementia, O'Connor attributed it to "degenerative (‘wear and tear’) osteoarthritic changes (or spondylosis) of his spine.”

The final ailment listed by O'Connor is peripheral neuropathy in his feet, which could also have many causes.

Most notably, the physical did not include a cognitive test even though the Republicans in Congress specifically requested one.
