President Joe Biden apologized to Muslim-American leaders back in October for questioning the death toll reported by Gaza in the conflict between Hamas and Israel.

On Oct. 25, he said during a press conference, "I have no notion that the Palestinians are telling the truth about how many people are killed," Biden said. "I’m sure innocents have been killed, and it’s a price of waging war."

The next day, Biden met with Muslim-American leaders who shared about people they knew who had been affected by the war.

"I’m sorry. I’m disappointed in myself," Biden said about his previous comments, according to the Washington Post.

Gaza's Hamas-controlled health ministry says over 14,000 Gazans had been killed in the war after only a month.

Biden has been caught between supporting Israel and demands from Democrats sympathetic to the Palestinians.
