Biden admits other Democrat candidates could beat Trump 'but I will'

President Joe Biden suggested on Wednesday during remarks to reporters that there are other Democrats besides himself who could beat former President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election.

The reporters asked him whether he thought another candidate could beat Trump in the election.

"Probably 50 of them," Biden joked. "I'm not the only one who could defeat him, but I will defeat him."

Just the day before, Biden told Democrat donors that he was only running to defeat Trump.

"We've got to get it done, not because of me," he said. "If Trump wasn't running, I'm not sure I'd be running. We cannot let him win."

Later, he changed his story and said he would still run if Trump didn't.  "But look, he is running, and I have to run," he concluded.
