Barack Obama's sister among those teargassed live on air
Auma Obama, the half-sister of Barack Obama, was teargassed in Kenya while live on the air with CNN on Tuesday, June 25.
The incident occurred when Auma Obama, a Kenyan-British activist, was in a chat with CNN's Larry Madowo. She was appearing with a group of teenage protestors.
"I can't even see anymore, we're being teargassed," she said.
Proposed tax hikes in Kenya are causing protests that are threatening a "total shutdown" of the nation.
"I'm here because look at what's happening. Young Kenyans are demonstrating for their rights. They are demonstrating with flags and banners," Obama said.
Vielen Dank @AumaObama for representing!
Auma Obama is also a Kenyan Diasporan who lives both in Kenya and Germany!

Kenyan President William Ruto has already denounced the protests. Kenya's parliament has been stormed and at least five people have been shot dead so far in the country.
Please pray for Kenya, also and the world.
