Assassination Of Volodymyr Zelenskyy Thwarted

A suspect has been detained by Ukraine's Security Service in connection with an apparent plot to take the life of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The suspect is apparently a woman from Mykolaiv who has not yet been publicly named.

Reportedly, the woman was "passing information on to Russian forces about Zelenskyy's location, including a full itinerary of the president's visit to the region."

Ukrainian officials report that the plan was for the Russians to unleash an airstrike on the area that the woman told them about.

Luckily for fans of Zelenskyy, Ukrainian investigators learned of the plan before it could be executed and put "additional security measures" in place.

"The Ukrainian Security Service continued to document the criminal actions of the enemy accomplice in order to obtain new data about her Russian ‘curators’ and the tasks received," Ukrainian officials said on Aug. 7.

It appears as though Zelensky is safe.

For now, that is.
