President Joe Biden is already struggling to prove that he has what it takes to win a second term in the White House.
His son, Hunter Biden, who he claims is the "smartest" person he knows, is becoming a real thorn in his campaign's side, as demonstrated in a recent poll regarding his alleged involvement in his son's overseas business dealings, according to the Washington Examiner.
A recent Yahoo News-YouGov survey indicated that nearly half of American voters, 48%, believe Joe Biden did something "illegal regarding Hunter Biden.
Another alarming statistic for the president is the fact that independent voters feel the same way, in large numbers, as 54% believe the elder Biden "definitely" or "probably" did something illegal with regard to his son's alleged influence-peddling business.
When asked directly if they believe Hunter Biden did something illegal, an overwhelming majority said yes.
The Examiner noted:
Hunter Biden fared even worse, as 67% reported he likely did something illegal. This comes as 53% claimed they have paid either a lot or some attention to the ongoing investigation into the president's son.
It added:
The poll also found that 39% of its respondents suspected that Joe Biden had committed some sort of "serious crime" sometime in his life. Similarly, 47% reported that they believed Joe Biden and his family were corrupt.
House Republicans, led by House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) have unearthed mountains of evidence in their quest to reveal exactly how connected the elder Biden was (is) to the family business dealings.
Those findings, amid others, have now led to an impeachment inquiry being opened against the president, which was announced by Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) last week.

Hunter Biden was also recently indicted on federal firearms charges, adding yet another headache to the struggling Biden 2024 presidential campaign.
The polling numbers continue to worsen for President Biden. Many, including Democrats -- at least anonymously, according to reports -- do not believe he will be able to mount a second campaign based on his obvious age-related decline, let alone multiple scandals and severely low public confidence and trust.
If Biden is ultimately impeached, it'll certainly complicate matters further.
Only time will tell if Biden survives it, politically speaking. It's certainly not looking good for him at this point.
