'All requests ignored': Biden refuses to meet with Jim Banks about U.S. fentanyl problem

March 23, 2023

Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) claimed Wednesday that he has repeatedly asked President Joe Biden to meet with him about the fentanyl problem plaguing the U.S., suggesting that Biden's refusal to meet signifies that he doesn't really care about the problem.

“I asked for a meeting with President Biden to discuss the deadly Fentanyl crisis 155 days ago and several times since. All requests ignored,” Banks tweeted along with an image of Biden meeting with the cast of the Ted Lasso TV show.

"Clearly @POTUS has different priorities," he added.

Biden recently laughed at Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) blaming his administration when a mother testified at a congressional hearing that she lost both of her boys to fentanyl overdoses when they took what they thought were Percocet pills that were actually pure fentanyl.

“Isn’t [Greene] amazing? Oof,” he said, laughing. "I’ve read she, she was very specific recently, saying that a mom, a poor mother who lost two kids to fentanyl, that, that I killed her sons. Well, the interesting thing is that fentanyl they took came during the last administration."

So fentanyl overdoses are funny? It seems clear now why Biden has no interest in meeting with Banks or anyone else about the problem, which has worsened since he took office and pretty much opened the border.
