Alec Baldwin now faces charges for a 2021 shooting on the set of his movie, Rust.

He was indicted on an involuntary manslaughter charge on Friday by a grand jury in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Baldwin pointed a prop gun he thought was unloaded at cinematographer Halyna Hutchins during a rehearsal, and the gun went off, killed her, and wounded director Joel Souza.

Baldwin said he didn't pull the trigger on the gun, but instead asserted that it fired when he pulled the hammer back.

It is a basic movie set safety protocol not to point any firearm at any person, whether it is loaded or not.

Another involuntary manslaughter charge was dropped in April because prosecutors said the gun might have been modified.

"We look forward to our day in court," Baldwin's lawyers said Friday.
