Alabama Republican hints that slate of impeachments could be on the horizon

 August 24, 2023

In recent weeks, buzz regarding the possible impeachment of President Joe Biden and a handful of his top officials has intensified within the ranks of House Republicans.

According to Breitbart, Republican Rep. Barry Moore (R-AL) is the latest to drop a bombshell hint that Republicans are potentially cooking up several impeachment inquiries targeting the president and several of his Cabinet members.

Moore revealed the news during a recent interview on Mobile, AL radio’s FM Talk 106.5.

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray were a few names dropped as potential impeachment targets, a move which is supported by a majority of Republican voters.

Moore held nothing back as he took specific aim at Biden's Cabinet members who he -- and many more -- believe have grossly failed the American public.

"I tell you the thing we have to do: We have to look at impeachment," Moore said.

He added, "I think that — not necessarily I’m saying Joe Biden impeachment right this second, Jeff. That may be warranted down the road. But for us right now, just the border. I mean, we’ve done a good job on Judiciary. Certainly, Oversight and Comer has done a great job. But Jim Jordan, as chairman of Judiciary — we’ve opened up. We’ve had [Alejandro] Mayorkas in. He will bald-faced lie to you and tell you the border is secure as 5 million pull across."

"Videos show people after people come into our country. So, I think we have to start looking at this administration and his Cabinet-level secretaries," he continued.

Moore also noted that he's one of many who believe AG Garland's DOJ has been politically weaponized against former President Donald Trump, in an effort to hamstring his 2024 presidential campaign.

"And certainly Merrick Garland recently turning loose Jack Smith on President Trump — that came straight from Biden’s DOJ, that now the Attorney General has turned into this weaponization to stop a presidential nominee of the opposing party, the one leading in the polls, the likely nominee for the Republican ticket. And here it is, it’s like they’re weaponizing," Moore said.

Then he dropped the biggest hint of all, regarding the "next step" House Republicans should take.

"The next step for our party I believe is impeachment," the Alabama Republican said. "I think the American people expect that. We do not want them to lose hope in our ability to execute a plan and to fight fire with fire."

Only time will tell if Republicans follow through, but the American people absolutely expect it at this point. It's time to fight.
