In the wake of being thrown off the House Intelligence Committee by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) announced that he will run for Sen. Diane Feinstein's (D-CA) seat in 2024.
Schiff follows Rep. Katie Porter (D-CA) in announcing a run for the seat, even though Feinstein has not said whether she plans to retire.
At the age of 89, Feinstein's retirement seems to be a foregone conclusion, but has not been made official.
Schiff reacted angrily to being stripped of his committee assignment, and threatened, “If he thinks this will stop me, he will soon find out just how wrong he is."
A move to the Senate could give Schiff more power and ability to grandstand against former President Donald Trump.
But in the meanwhile, let's enjoy his well-deserved humiliation.
