Over 65K federal workers accept Trump's buyout offer
Liberals have been launching criticism after criticism at Donald Trump for trying to thin out America's bloated federal government, but it would appear as though even the workers in those very ranks are at least somewhat on board with the plan.
According to Breitbart, more than 65,000 federal workers have accepted Trump's buyout offer.
A federal judge is expected to weigh in on the legality of this matter soon.
The workers were offered a buyout to quit their jobs willingly with extended pay or stay and risk downsizing anyway.
"If you resign under this program, you will retain all pay and benefits regardless of your daily workload and will be exempted from all applicable in-person work requirements until September 30, 2025 (or earlier if you choose to accelerate your resignation for any reason)," the memo sent to 2,000,000 federal employees read.
Anyone not accepting the buyout would be subject to "enhanced standards of suitability and conduct." Regardless of if employees willingly left or not, there is still the possibility of "restructurings, realignments, and reductions in force."
Do you agree with Trump's plan to cut down on the overall number of federal employees on the payroll?
