Michael Jordan's son Marcus arrested on DUI, cocaine charges

NBA legend Michael Jordan doesn't make the headlines nearly as often as he once did, but this week was an exception -- for all the wrong reasons.

According to the Daily Mail, the basketball star's son, Marcus Jordan, was arrested earlier this week on DUI and cocaine charges, which happened after he somehow managed to get his Lamborghini stuck on railroad tracks in Florida.

It was reported that the younger Jordan, 34, was arrested in the early morning hours on Tuesday and ultimately booked into the Orange County Jail for processing.

He was out of the county jail rather quickly, as he posted a $4,000 bond and was back out in the world just after noon on Tuesday.

Jordan Jr. found himself in a whole heap of trouble during his debacle that led to getting his expensive vehicle lodged on the railroad tracks.

The Daily Mail noted:

The Maitland police department said officers noticed Marcus' headlights on a railroad. When they approached the luxury SUV, they noticed bumper damage and kicked-up rocks, which suggested Marcus had been trying to flee but could not.

Police suspected Marcus had just fled a nearby traffic stop, though Marcus allegedly claimed he had taken a wrong turn and needed help getting his car off the tracks.

When officers responded to the situation, they smelled alcohol and also noticed Marcus Jordan's bloodshot eyes.

Jordan finally admitted to the responding officers that he had spent the evening at a gentleman's club where he consumed alcohol but insisted that he was below the legal limit of .08.

Obviously, he was given the benefit of the doubt at first, as he had three chances to pass a field sobriety test. He failed them all.

Officers had no other choice but to place him under arrest for suspicion of DUI.

The police also noted that they found a white powdery substance in his pocket that tested positive for cocaine.

Given who his father is, police camera footage of the arrest immediately went viral across social media.

Marcus Jordan was reportedly "combative" on his way to jail, but he also reportedly sang the entire time.
