Trump lauded for Hamas ceasefire deal as Biden claims credit
Mainstream media hosts, including CNN's Abby Phillip, are giving President-elect Donald Trump credit for a Hamas ceasefire deal that will return American hostages to the U.S., even as President Joe Biden announced that he had brokered the deal.
Trump hinted at the deal two hours before Biden came out and announced it.
"I do think that all sides agree that Trump's candidness has made a difference, one way or another," Phillip said when discussing the deal.
Many of the hostages have been held captive since Oct. 7, 2023, and some will, sadly, be just remains that are recovered at this point.
In exchange for the hostages and a 42-day ceasefire, Israel has agreed to release 1,000 security prisoners it has been holding.
Phillip's cohost Scott Jennings agreed with Phillip about Trump's role and said that Biden has been "putting shackles" on Israel, whereas he didn't believe Trump would do so.
