TikTok Ban case heading to US Supreme Court

 December 14, 2024

A federals appeals court refused on Dec. 13 to pause the upcoming federal ban on the social media platform TikTok.

This means that the Supreme Court will weigh in on the case. As things stand right now, TikTok has only until January 19 to take certain actions or else face an outright ban in America.

In an ironic twist, one of the few people who could save TikTok in America now is Donald Trump, who previously vowed to fight against the Chinese-controlled video sharing app.

During Trump's first term, he seemed to be squarely against TikTok, even going so far as to sign an executive order banning the platform in America based on data privacy concerns.

Trump was singing a different tune by the time the 2024 Election came around.

By that time, Donald Trump had created a TikTok account and has since amassed nearly 15 million followers.

"For all of those that want to save TikTok in America, vote for Trump," Trump said in 2024.

Do you think that TikTok could be banned in America, or will Trump prevent that?
