Cops blame man with 'self-trained' bomb dog for sparking false Trump rally reports
A bomb-sniffing dog detected some explosives in a car near a Donald Trump rally recently.
It turned out to be a false alarm.
The dog was a "self-trained bomb-detecting dog" and simply got it wrong.
Police have come out and definitively said that there was NO threat to Donald Trump's Long Island rally site following the report of explosives being found.
While the "Nassau County Police Department confirmed to DailyMail.com that 'there was a suspicious occurrence' on Wednesday ahead of Trump's speech where thousands of MAGA fans are gathering," officials are denying that any explosive was found.
They're not disputing that the self-trained dog thought it detected something, but that the report of explosives being present was "unfounded."
The Nassau County Commissioner of Police Patrick Ryder blamed a "self-trained bomb-sniffing dog" for the false report.
The latest possible breach in Trump security comes just days after an apparent second assassination attempt against Donald Trump was thwarted.
