GOP senators warn against sending Donald Trump to prison

 June 5, 2024

Senate Republicans are sending a strong warning to New York Judge Juan Merchan, the corrupt liberal in charge of Donald J. Trump's New York trial that saw the former President of the United States of America convicted of 34 felonies on flimsy evidence and two known liars as the primary witnesses.

Republicans are saying that if Judge Juan Merchan tries to do anything unreasonable to Donald Trump, such as ordering him to prison or house arrest, that would be regarded as "out of bounds."

This is America, you're not allowed to jail your political rivals because they're carrying more momentum into the election than you.

"I’m very troubled by what I see in the way the courts have been weaponized," said Senator John Cornyn, a Republican from Texas. "It used to be there were some institutions in America, namely the FBI, the Department of Justice and the courts, which were regarded as out of bounds for overt partisan politics, but unfortunately that’s changed, and not for the better."

Sen. Ted Budd, a Republican from North Carolina, wouldn't put anything past liberals after what we've already seen out of them.

"When you see the conviction and the rules that he instructed the jury with, it’s completely unfair, it’s unconstitutional, and I would put nothing past him at this point," Budd said.
