An Associated Press-NORC Research Center poll taken after House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) was ousted from his role showed that 78% of Americans think the country is going in the wrong direction.

That number is 3% higher than the measure of those who thought so last month. Only 21% said they thought the country was going in the right direction in the poll.

It's the highest number since May in this particular survey.

President Joe Biden's job approval rating was only 38%, with 61% disapproving. His personal approval rating was not much better at 42%, with 54% approving.

Trump's approval rating was lower than Biden's at 37%, but the two are neck in neck as far as the election goes.

That's pretty good if you consider that the media has been attacking Trump and defending Biden and the Democrats for the last eight years.
